About the Artist

Howdy howdy! I'm Ace B, also known as 'KilljoyConstruct'. I'm a twenty-year-old transmasc queer butch artist and designer from Central Pennsylvania who's been honing my craft for around ten years. I'm a third year new media design student at RIT, and plan to go into the motion graphics and/or UIUX industry after I graduate, while also continuing to make and share my own personal art projects.

My art and stories tend to center around sci-fi settings, with themes of queer and trans liberation, anti-war ideology, and robots discovering what it means to be alive. Most of my personal story projects feature dark and heavy themes such as war, genocide, abuse, queerphobia, and "whump". However, be aware that just because I include something in one of my stories does not mean I condone or agree with it. Quite a few of my projects center around war and both real and fictional militaries, but I am firmly anti-war in real life, for example. I use my personal story projects as a means of expressing my frustrations with the world as a queer and trans disabled person, and that often comes through in ways that may not be palatable to some people. Please be responsible when interacting with my work and heed the content warnings wherever you see them.

When I'm not drawing or writing, I can usually be found at the ice rink, where I'm working on my USFS gold medals in Pattern Dance, Free Dance, and Moves in the Field. I currently have silver medals in Pattern Dance and Free Dance and am working on earning my bronze in Moves; I plan on reaching the next/final levels in the coming few years! I've been skating since 2010, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon. It's brought me a lot of joy over the years. I've also recently started fencing, both Olympic and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts). I'm not very experienced with it yet, but I'm hoping to change that as time goes on, because I'm really enjoying it so far. Hopefully I can start participating in tournaments one day!

I have my share of diagnosed struggles, including POTS and unspecified psychosis. Balancing my health issues on top of school, sports, and personal projects is often a challenge. But I have gotten much better at managing my health over the years, mental and physical. That being said, if you are waiting on a commission or what have you from me, please keep this in mind. I am unfortunately not always able to work as much as I'd like; just sitting up in bed is sometimes enough to make me feel sick. Please remember that I value myself as well as my audience!
